Time & Location

05 Sept 2021, 08:00 – 16:00

Leicester, Malsbury Ave, Leicester LE7 9FQ, UK

About The Event

Pre-Ride – Sat 4th Sept

Warm-up event

Details will be confirmed in due course and the event is dependent on sufficient uptake. It will take place between 5-6pm on Saturday 4th (please note timings are very strict). It will be a great event and the perfect way to kick things off with a bit of competitive spirit so we encourage as many of you to attend as possible. If you do wish to attend we would suggest a 3pm arrival time in Leicester to allow sufficient time for coordination.

Please indicate during the registration process whether you would like to attend the warm-up event.

We are hoping to be able to provide a meal after the warm-up event. There is a possibility it may have to be self-funded but that just means you will be spoilt for choice at one of the many Leicester eateries.

Overnight Accommodation

Alhamdulilah we have managed to secure just 30 spaces at one of our local Leicester mosques called Darul Arqam Educational Trust which is approximately 2.7 miles from the ride venue (7min drive – see address and google link below).

We will allocate spaces on a first come first serve basis. With Leicester being a geographically central location even the longest journeys should not exceed more than 2 ½ hours so we would ideally like to prioritise those brothers travelling furthest to provide greater ease for them In’Sha’Allah.

If we find that demand for the warm-up event is conditional upon being allocated overnight accommodation we will look to increase accommodation spaces where possible – rest assured if you want to attend the warm-up event we will find a way to make it work In’Sha’Allah!

Please indicate during the registration process whether you would like to be assigned an accommodation space.

Ride Day – Sun 5th Sept

Venue

The venue for the national ride will be the Scraptoft Community Hub (see address and google link below). The ride will start and finish at the venue, with breakfast and the post ride meal being served at the same location. There are shower and changing room facilities available.

Please can we request all brothers to bring a pair of sliders/chapals/slippers as we must not wear cleated shoes inside the venue since the main hall is used as a ballet studio and the floor must not be damaged.

Car Parking

There will be parking available at the venue but unfortunately limited to around 40 spaces. There is on-street parking surrounding the venue but it is a residential area. The venue committee have explicitly requested that we not park on the surrounding roads as there have unfortunately been complaints when other organisations have held events. We therefore humbly request brothers to travel together wherever possible to limit the pressure on parking. There will be alternative parking options available should we exceed capacity.

Please indicate during the registration process whether you are intending on bringing your car.

Please also advise how many other brothers you will be travelling with and ensure that only the driver requests a parking space during registration. We will likely prioritise those cars carrying the most brothers and their bikes.

Routes

There will be a variety of routes ranging from 30-50 miles for all capabilities – these will be confirmed and disseminated with strava links prior to the event to allow brothers to upload to GPS devices.

There will be strava segments highlighted on the route for a bit of friendly competition to see who can triumph on the day … oh and before we forget to mention, there will be prizes up for grabs for the winners!

Groups will be confirmed nearer to the time.

Contribution

As with previous events, any contributions towards the event costs would be greatly appreciated. We are intending to provide a really top-notch meal and want to continue the great experience of a BoB National Ride – we hope to host the best one yet, not to outdo those that have happened before but rather to give everyone a great day to look forward to after what has been an extraordinary 18 months. We would also like to give back a little token to Darul Arqam for extending their hospitality.

Suggested contribution is £15 per registration. Any surplus will be transferred to the BoB central fund to cover on-going club admin costs.
