We want to give everyone the opportunity to do this ride, but in order to make it viable, you need to hit the following ride requirements, all of which is very achievable with consistency and training. If you need help hitting these targets or don't know how to go about it, you can PM me. If you are injured &/or can't train currently but can later on, please let me know ASAP so I can take it into account.
Please note that this is the minimum one should be able to do, any extra training will benefit you, and will allow you to enjoy the trip rather than just getting through it. There are back to back days riding, with a 100miler on day 2. Despite having pretty much all day riding, one should get used to long days in the saddle on back to back days, to build endurance but also have an idea and to train yourself to handle issues of pain/niggles, nutrition etc.
One needs to have basic mechanical knowledge, and not rely on the group when any mechanicals occur. Riders must be aware that this is not a supported ride, and any failure of fitness or major mechanical, may lead to taking a train/uber to the next destination/shop which will obviously incur a financial penalty.
By the end of October - 30 mile ride at 12mph
November 15th - 40 miles at 13mph
December 10th - 50 miles at 14mph
10th - 20th December - I will start taking non refundable deposits.*
*NOTE: This applies to those that do not hit the required minimum requirements &/or you drop out. You can however find someone else to take your place (they too will need to fulfil the minimum requirements). They should reimburse you directly.
